Information

  • Citation formats for conference papers and proceedings will vary depending on the source. For example, conference papers sourced from a website will be cited differently from conference papers published in a journal.
  • In many cases, one or more elements of the recommended format for citation will be absent.

Format

Standard format for citation

Conference paper printed in a book:

Author 1; Author 2; …; Author 10; et al. Title of the Presentation. In Title of the Collected Work, Proceedings of the Name of the Meeting, location of the meeting, date of the meeting; Editor 1, Editor 2, (continue until all editors are listed), Eds.; Publisher: Place of Publication, year; pagination, abstract paper number.

 

Conference paper printed in a journal:

Author 1; Author 2; …; Author 10; et al. Title of the Presentation. Title of the Collected Work, Proceedings of the Name of the Meeting yearmeeting number, pagination, abstract paper number. DOI

 

Conference paper from an internet repository or website:

Author 1; Author 2; …; Author 10; et al. Title. Name of Conference, Location of Conference, Date of Conference; presentation or abstract number. Name of Repository (Section name), Submission date, record number, version number. DOI or URL (accessed YYYY-MM-DD).

OR

Author 1; Author 2; …; Author 10; et al. Title. Name of Conference, Location of Conference, Date of Conference; presentation or abstract number. Name of Website, date, URL (accessed YYYY-MM-DD).
