IEEE - Referencing Guide

Images & Tables

Information

IEEE refers to images as Figures.

• All tables and figures, including diagrams, graphs, drawings, photographs, figures, maps, schematics etc, that are reproduced in an essay, assignment or presentation, must be cited in the text and included in your reference list.

• Please note the following copyright guidelines for reproducing figures or tables:

  • Students submitting assignments generally don't need to obtain permission to reproduce a figure or table in their work, as long as the original source is acknowledged and the work is not posted online or shared outside Murdoch University in any way.

  • Anyone writing for publication will need to obtain written permission from the copyright owner to include the figure or table in the work. This includes theses as they are published on the University Research Portal, a publicly accessible platform.
  • For more information, see Copyright advice.

For information on citing Figures and Tables in the text, see Citing Images and Tables.
