To update your Mac OS, go to System Preferences > Software Update or go to the Apple Support website.
The Cite While You Write (CWYW) functions put an EndNote submenu of commands on Word’s Tools menu. They allow EndNote to format citations and create a bibliography for the document that is open in Word. Depending on your version of Word you may see either a floating EndNote toolbar or one which is added to the standard Word toolbar options.

When downloading references into EndNote for Mac, sometimes direct export will not work; instead the output file will get downloaded onto the Desktop and you will need to import it into EndNote.
Ebscohost
Ebscohost Databases allow you to do a direct export of your records into EndNote.
JSTOR, ScienceDirect & Scopus
JSTOR, ScienceDirect & Scopus download an RIS format file into your Downloads folder. When you import the file, use the Import option “Reference Manager (RIS)” to import your data.
Web of Science
Web of Science downloads an .xml file to Documents. When you click on it the import feature of EndNote opens. You need to select the “EndNote generated .xml” option from the dropdown menu to import it.
