Searching the Scientific Literature

Books will provide you with both background information and more detailed information relevant to your case study.

These include articles, book chapters, and books.

Have you checked the BIO103 list?

  1. In Library Search type in crown of thorns starfish
  2. Select the record for the book "Crown-of-thorns starfish on the Great Barrier Reef : reproduction, recruitment and hydrodynamics"
  3. To find more resources on the subject, scroll down the record to the Full details heading.
  4. Scroll down to "Subject" to find the subject terms used to describe this book. Note that there are two subject headings. Each can be selected to list all books held in the University Library for that subject.

  5. Click on these subject headings to search the Library's holdings of resources with these same subject headings:

    • Crown-of-thorns starfish -- Queensland -- Great Barrier Reef
