You asked, we listened!

We recently asked for your feedback on our Libraries, and you gave us some great suggestions to help us improve our services for all Library users.

Here are just some of the recent improvements we’ve made based on your feedback:

#1. You said ‘The services provided at Mandurah are limited’

We’ve upgraded the Mandurah Campus Library to include both a self-check machine and a charging station for your electronic devices. You’ll find the self-check machine in the Library and the charging station in the adjacent computer lab.

In addition, we’ve worked with the Murdoch Guild and the Access, Wellbeing and Equity team to install a campus piano in the Alfresco area to bring more music into your lives for the Play me! I’m yours! Initiative.

#2. You said ‘There needs to be more accessible spaces within the Library’

We’ve added more accessible spaces to our 24/7 area at the Geoffrey Bolton Library. These include a sensory room and three accessible individual study rooms complete with ergonomic equipment such as sit-stand desks and adjustable lighting. Access is available for eligible students via our Library accessibility services.

#3. You said ‘Can’t find group spaces within the Library’

We’ve added more group study rooms on Level 3, South Wing of Geoffrey Bolton Library. Book now!

#4. You said ‘Can’t find a quiet place in the Library’

We’ve been letting people know about these spaces via our socials and have improved signage throughout the Library to help make our Silent Zones easier to find, and to help keep them silent. Find out more about our Silent Zones.

We’ve also added more individual study rooms for independent study!

#5. You said ‘It wasn’t easy to use mobile devices to find online resources’

We’ve upgraded the Library website to be more mobile friendly.

Keep an eye out for upcoming changes to Library Search for more improvements to mobile usability!

Any more suggestions? Let us know! We’d love to hear from you.
