Getting Started

The Library's website ( is the best place to start your research. 

You are able to access the website through links in the LMS, the main Murdoch University website, the link above, or you can perform a general internet search.

On the left navigation pane, you will find Borrowing and access and Students menus. These links will take you to important information about:

  • Borrowing and requesting items
  • How to search & browse the resources
    • FindIt
    • Databases
    • My Unit Readings
    • Library catalogue
    • Exam papers
  • Referencing

In the middle of the Library homepage, you will see a search box with three headings.

Select one of the three search options and enter your term to search in the relevant resource. You can also access the databases from here.

To the right of the Library homepage is Quick Links:

  • MyLibrary - login with your Murdoch username and password to see your holds, preferred searches, reading history, and to create and save lists of items. 
  • Subject guides - subject specific information about your area of study.
  • Referencing - comprehensive guides to the different styles of referencing used at Murdoch.
  • Bonus+, ArticleReach - services which provide access to resources not held at Murdoch.
  • Exam papers - a collection of past papers searchable by unit code.

Set column to be double width (column 2 and 3)

This box is hidden when viewed publically or in preview - it is only visible in editing mode.
It will change the width of the central column to be the full width of the page (75%).
